Our Story
A Name That Means Something
Pack 1103's number is no coincidence. It honors Stan Stanley — an Eagle Scout, Vigil Honor recipient, and longtime Council Commissioner for the Sam Houston Area Council. Stan and his wife Patsy were instrumental in founding both Cub Scout Pack 1103 and Boy Scout Troop 1103 right here in Katy. When it came time to choose a unit number, the answer was obvious: November 3rd — Stan's birthday — became 1103. Both Pack and Troop carry that date to this day. The elementary school where so many of our Scouts learn, Stan C. Stanley Elementary, was named in his honor by Katy ISD.
